Build a UTM-tagged campaign URL.
Pick a source, fill in the rest, copy the link. It runs entirely in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server unless you choose to shorten it.

Why this matters
Five parameters, and only two are required.
The other three exist to answer a more specific question later: which keyword, which ad, which campaign. They're not meant to be filled in out of habit.
- utm_source and utm_medium are the two that make a link countable. Google Analytics groups traffic by these first
- utm_campaign groups related links so a launch across five channels rolls up into one report, not five
- utm_term and utm_content are optional. Use them to tell paid keywords or ad variants apart
- Lowercase, no spaces: 'Spring Sale' truncates a URL at the space in plain-text email and SMS clients
A UTM you paste is a UTM that can break
A raw tagged URL truncates at the first space in plain-text email and SMS, and a redirect that drops the query string silently strips it. Both are common, and both are covered in how broken links and bad UTMs waste paid media spend.
Want it shortened and monitored?
A ClickTrail workspace turns this URL into a branded short link, checks the destination stays healthy after you publish, and saves templates so the next campaign starts from a dropdown instead of a copy-pasted URL.

Is the UTM builder free to use?
Yes. No signup, no limit on how many links you build. It runs entirely in your browser.
Which UTM parameters are actually required?
utm_source and utm_medium are the two that Google Analytics groups traffic by. utm_campaign, utm_term and utm_content are optional and only matter once you need a more specific answer than "where did this come from".
Does building a link here require an account?
No. Picking a template, filling in the fields and copying the tagged URL all happen without signing in. A free ClickTrail account is only needed if you want the result shortened and its destination monitored.
Can I save a template for reuse?
Not on this free tool. It always starts fresh. Saved templates are a workspace feature, available once you create a free account.
